APPLE & PLUM CRUMBLE RECIPE

Apple and Plum Crumble

Filling:

 

Take the apples and peel, core and cube them. Then halve the plums, removed the stones and then quarter them. Mix the chopped apples and plums in with apple juice and sugar in a large round pie dish. (aprox 23cm round)

 

Crumble:

 

Sift the flour into a bowl and add the unsalted butter then rub together using your fingertips  until the mixture looks like fine breadcrumbs. Stir in the rice flakes, sunflower seeds, buckwheat, sugar and cinnamon.  

 

Apple and Plum Crumble:

 

Spoon the crumble mixture evenly on top of the fruit and seed mix.

 

Bake the crumble in the preheated oven for between 30 and 40 minutes until the topping is slightly browned and crisp

Oven - 180C or Gas Mark 4

 

Filling

  •  

  • 4 cooking apples

  • 5 plums

  • 4 table spoons of fresh apple juice

  • 25 grams soft light brown sugar

 

Crumble

  •  

  • 115 grams of plain flour

  • 75 grams of unsalted butter cubed

  • 25 grams buckwheat flakes

  • 25 grams rice flakes

  • 25 grams of sunflower seeds

  • 50 grams of light brown sugar

  • 25 grams rice flakes

  • 25 grams buckwheat flakes

  • Quarter of a tablespoon of ground cinnamon
